What was the first book to make an impression on you? Any one of the Enid Blyton Famous Five books. I remember well the feeling of mild terror as the mystery unfolded, which turned me towards mystery and horror. What was your favourite book as a child? I went through phases and liked too many to have a favourite. Famous Five, the Doctor Who books, the Jennings books, and then horror from around twelve. I Am Legend was my first “grown-up” read.
