What was the first book to make an impression on you? The first book that I remember making an indelible impression on me was The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. I’m a voracious reader so it takes a lot for a book to capture my imagination the way it did. I felt changed in some integral way after I finished it. It was my first proper introduction to the ideas of feminism and has shaped the way I view the world. What was your favourite book as a child? I loved Roald Dahl, the Narnia series, and anything by Enid Blyton. The Magic Faraway Tree was a particular favourite.
